Social Studies Education (BS)

的 University offers a bachelor of science (BS) in social studies education for students who wish to obtain licensure to teach in middle school, 初中, 或者高中.

学生 may choose to concentrate in any two (or more) of the following teaching areas:

学生 gain teaching skills through classroom 和 multiple field experiences in the Bayh College of Education 和 the College of Arts 和 Science—和 through their required student teaching experience. Field experiences begin as early as the junior year, with student teaching traditionally occurring during the senior year.

An important benefit is the 程序's flexibility, which allows students to complete studies in the disciplinary areas of their choice, while shared content courses 和 the interdisciplinary scope of the 程序 enable students to obtain teaching licensure in four or more areas, 如果需要.

Relatively small class sizes enable students to work one-on-one with highly talented 和 dedicated faculty members.
